  Purchasing a couch from Ikea has been a lousy experience. Poor quality control and ineffectual and unsympathetic customer service have ensured that I will not be back for my next furniture purchase. Positives were the pleasant staff in the couch department and the couch itself, barring the QC issues. It is comfortable, has decent construction and materials, and was a good price. Couch orders can be quickly put into the system at the couch area, but only after waiting in line and purchasing do they add your furniture to the queue of large items to be pulled and put on carts for customers to take. Since it was Saturday, I was warned that this process may take a while, so I left to eat. Upon returning, my order was still not listed as ready. I wasn't able to leave the store with the couch until nearly two hours after purchasing it. Upon unpacking the pieces and starting to put the couch together, I discovered that I'd been supplied with two left arms. With the way the couch goes together, the arms must be attached in order to attach the feet, so couch assembly was at a standstill. This morning, I called Ikea customer service and after a 50 minute hold I am told that I can have a new piece shipped to me. I explain that I'd like to pick it up in-store for a quicker resolution. Customer service tells me that they can't notify or put in a request to the store, but I can bring the extra arm in to exchange it. There are no store specific phone numbers that I could find, so I confirm online that there are additional units of the same model still available in the store. I drive over and wait at the returns desk only to learn that they are now sold out. A call to a manager and many apologies later I am left with nothing to make the situation any better and told to drive back next week when they restock to try again. Oh, and I need to lug the extra arm out with me and bring it back again next time. And if I want the piece delivered, I need to call corporate customer service again. The inability of in-store customer service and corporate customer service to communicate is frustrating and bizarre. At this point, I am done dealing with Ikea and head to the hardware store. With a drill and some new bolts, I attach the arm and am able to finish the assembly. I put the couch cover on and lo and behold, a giant stain on the armrest cover. Now I have an email in to customer service, which can take up to 2 days to reply.

  Good food and so cheap. Love the free coffee before 10am. Great furniture and household items. Got lots of IKEA stuff that I use at home and in my business. I always end up with more stuff than i intended. Great bargains in the "as-is" section and some items already assembled. We are so fortunate to have this store in MN.

  Most of our house is furnished with things from IKEA. You can definitely get stuff for cheap here, but I prefer to get the stuff that's made from solid oak or pine. If you're handy enough, you can finish these items yourself and make your furnishings look high-end and save a buck. Just recently, I purchased the Ivar chairs for our house and finished them myself. It took about 3 hours due to the colder weather, but the result was worth it.

  Awesome store with many ideas for your home. Storage solutions are laid out and easy to install if you like. Very helpful staff who will help you design and come up with helpful ideas on anything. Cafe has many healthy and great food choices for reasonable prices. All around great store for many reasons.
